“The Bear Facts”
Himinamis is the dream bear of Lathan and Katie Hudson. When Lathan was challenged with creating the bear’s image, it was Katie who sat down at a table with one of Lathan’s old fishing hats and quickly drew the sketch of Lathan, her "old bear," that became The Himinamis Bear™. With the help of artist Linda Happel, the bear went through the following metamorphosis:

“Himinamis” is pronounced “Hi, my nam(e) is…” Although it is spelled incorrectly, it is phonetically correct, and kids will easily recognize it once a teacher or caregiver has explained the phonetic breakdown. Kids will even get a kick out of saying it fast. Kinda like OSHKOSHBYGOSH...
A light-hearted, fun play on words, Himinamis adds unique excitement to casual introductions and to the learning process. The story illustrates how each of us is special and has something to offer if we just look inside ourselves.
